Promo Companies Make their Markle with Weird Royal Wedding Products

Submitted by Kelly Glass

Royal Wedding fever recently struck the nation with the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and promotional products companies worldwide appear to have had some fever dreams of their own. Successfully marketing unique products can be downright difficult, but these royal wedding-themed ones are . . . just plain weird!

Clothing
Shirts of all types are apparently the royal wedding merch team’s jam. There are country music-like screen-prints, a Fresh Prince parody sweatshirt, a t-shirt highlighting the international love connection with flags, a riff on “When Harry Met Sally” (ahem, Meghan), and a whole load of “Sparkle Like Markle” swag (including some sweet pink socks). If you don’t want to dress yourself, give the Harry and Meghan paper dolls a clothing upgrade. Really, nothing could possibly top the bathing suits with GIGANTIC ROYAL FACES across the bellies.

Accessories
“When Harry Met Meghan” isn’t just a fake movie title for shirts — you can also get it on a tote bag. If you’d like a smaller bag, it may not completely qualify as an accessory, but this one product is the true epitome of royal wedding weirdness: Harry and Meghan barf bags, for those of us who are sick of all this lovey-dovey fanaticism.

Toys
Let Harry and Meghan nod “I do” forever when you decorate your desk with their royal wedding bobbleheads! The most popular styles seem to have them waving to you personally while they nod or just lovingly clinging to one another. You can get the kids involved in the wedding fun, too, with a coloring book that illustrates those two crazy kids’ path to love. (Don’t worry, adults. There are some pretty unique toys just for you, too . . .) Oh, and there are also some completely not terrifying dolls in the royal wedding attire, though we’re pretty sure that doll is not wearing the dress to which Markle said “yes”.

Edibles
No, not those edibles. Think candy. Like PEZ dispensers with tiny busts of Harry and Meghan on top. Nothing like snapping a royal’s neck in order to get some candy, right? For a creamier take on the nuptials, God Save the Cream is a fan-chosen flavored ice cream with a drawing of the royal couple on the container. According to The Daily Meal, it’s wedding cake flavor (go figure): a lemon and ginger ice cream with pieces of elderflower-infused Victorian sponge cake and buttercream ice cream mixed in. To go with the wedding cake ice cream, top it with a white chocolate heart imprinted with Harry and Meghan’s faces.

Don’t let your chance to cash in on the royal wedding action pass you by. The big day may be over, but Idea Custom Solutions can provide the vector artwork, embroidery digitizing or graphic design you need to help your customers create kooky campaigns of their own for the couple’s first anniversary!
